BOARDING FOR THE FIFTEENTH EDITION
In thirty years, the Festival du Chant de Marin has already taken us around the world, from Africa to Asia, to America, from Celtic to the Balkans, from the South to the islands... For its fifteenth edition (4, 5 and 6 August 2023), it is embarking on a journey of
..." ITALIAN STOPOVERS".
A fifteenth edition is a milestone to reach, especially when the journey is prolonged for reasons we all know. In 2023, the Festival du Chant de Marin confirms its "Italian stopovers", from port to port, as far as the shores of Sardinia. As promised, this year's edition will focus on Italian popular music, an effervescent and colourful, frenetic and generous "bal rital".
However, the festival will not forbid itself any deviation, any escapade: musical discoveries will always be the particularity of the Paimpol festival. Once again, the Festival du Chant de Marin will be dedicated to travel, to dreaming and escaping, to meeting new people, to getting away from it all. Rootedness, openness and, of course, good humour ... will be on the agenda!
On the programme, world music, sea songs, Breton music and festoù-noz... and the "street and quayside arts" which have become a hallmark of the Paimpol festival over the years. Not forgetting the exhibitions, the activities for young people, the tastings of local products... and the two hundred or so traditional boats which are both actors in and magnificent backdrop to the festival.
The Festival du Chant de Marin, the fourth largest festival in Brittany, will take place on Friday 4, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 August 2023 in the port of Paimpol. For a memorable fifteenth edition !
